Two Steps From Hell

As I have said before, I love to listen to music while I write. It inspires new ideas and keeps my imagination flowing. Besides music with lyrics I love to listen to instrumental music. One of my favorites is Two Steps From Hell. They are most famous for their trailer music. It is epic music and inspires me to write great scenes.
If you have never listen to them, search them on youtube. You will most likely fall in love with their music. It is hard not to. Some of my favorite songs are "Heart of Courage", "Intoxication", "Immortals", "Merchant Prince", "Wind Queen", "Promise", "Am I Not Human?", "What's Happening to Me?", and many more. I have a whole playlist I love to listen to. Anyway, that is all I have to say for now.

Here is one of my favorite songs by them:

Encouragement Quotes

Writing is a tough but fun job. Like anything else it can be hard to stay positive when you keep getting rejection after rejection. Over time, the more rejection letters you get, the easier it can become for it to roll off your shoulders and move onto the next agent. I haven't quite gotten to that point yet. It is still very hard for me to get a rejection letter. I think it will always be hard because my novel is my baby, but it will hopefully get easier. (So I have heard)

I used to be very negative when it came to my novel. I would walk around and say things like, "It is never going to get published" or "It will never do well and people will hate it". I have learned over time that it will get me nowhere, and it just makes me feel like crap. I now keep a positive attitude, and I do have faith that my novel will be published one day. I will see it in bookstores, and I have a strong feeling that people will love it!

Even though I stay positive almost all the time, I do have some moments where I started to feel bad and doubt that it is good and will be published. The way I get rid of those feelings is by reading some encouraging quotes. They always help me gain my positive attitude back. These are not famous quotes but they give me encouragement. Each one I have for a different reason.

“Every great wizard in history started out as nothing more than we are now, students. If they can do it, why not us?” ~Harry From Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix Movie.
(This one might seem weird to you. You might ask, "why does that give you encouragement?" Think about it this way, instead of wizard insert the word author or writer. Do see what I am getting at?)

“When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hang on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.”  ~Harriet Beecher Stowe

“When you feel like giving up, remember why you held on for so long in the first place.” ~Unknown

“Instead of giving myself reasons why I can't, I give myself reasons why I can.” ~Unknown

“Never let the odds keep you from doing what you know in your heart you were meant to do.” ~H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

"The important thing is not being afraid to take a chance. Remember, the greatest failure is to not try. Once you find something you love to do, be the best at doing it." ~Debbi Fields

"There are those who look at things the way they are, and ask why... I dream of things that never were, and ask why not?" ~Robert Kennedy (I love this one!)

Sleep Well, My Angel

This week's song is Sleep Well, My Angel by We Are The Fallen. They are another band I like to listen to while writing. They are also one of my favorite bands.

This songs goes on Richard's playlist because it would be from his POV (point of view). This song expresses his feelings from something in his past. Hope you enjoy it! It is a great song!
